One of the most exclusive camps in Namibia, Wilderness Little Kulala is a stunning luxury camp situated on a large private reserve, bordering the Namib Naukluft Park, in the heart of the Namib Desert and offers magnificent views of the famous red dunes of Sossusvlei, superb mountainous scenery and vast open plains. This is the only reserve with direct access to Sossusvlei through its own private gate.
Activities centre on early morning excursions in four wheel drive vehicles to the magnificent Sossusvlei dunes and the “vlei” itself and wonderful desert breakfasts are served under camel-thorn acacias surrounded by the dunes. Other activities include guided nature walks, guided quad biking excursions, guided electric fat-wheeled bike trips and star gazing. Early morning ballooning can also be arranged. Sightings of animals such as springbok, gemsbok, ostrich, bat-eared fox and aardwolf are exciting and extraordinary in these rugged conditions. The activities available leave guests with overwhelming impressions of the magnitude, solitude and tranquillity of this Namibian desert.
The 11 climate-controlled, thatched and canvas “kulalas” (Kulala in the Namibian language Oshiwambo means “to sleep”) merge into the desert landscape, each built on a wooden platform to provide maximum airflow. Along with innovative bleached decks, indoor and outdoor showers and a plunge pool, bedrolls can be placed on a private stargazing platform on top of each room to sleep under the stars. There is One family unit consisting of two ensuite bedrooms sharing a deck and private plunge pool. The main lodge has a lounge, bar, dining area, swimming pool and wine cellar. Massages are available for you to enjoy in the privacy of your tent.
