Huka Lodge
Huka Lodge is the iconic, grande dame luxury lodge of New Zealand situated in 17 magnificent acres on a bend in the Waikato River not far from Lake Taupo just upriver from Huka Falls. Experience
In addition to enjoying the stunning surroundings of Huka Lodge itself there is so much to experience in the area should you wish to. Fishing, tennis, petanque and croquet can all be enjoyed at the lodge, there are mountain bikes, a swimming pool and 2 spa pools; massage and beauty treatments are also on offer. In the immediate area there is more fishing on Lake Taupo, helicopter flights can be arranged, hunting, hiking, riding, golf, jet boating, paragliding, parachuting, bungee jumping, sky diving, kayaking, motorsport and quadbiking…the list is endless.
Accommodation
Huka Lodge has just 25 incredibly luxurious rooms which comprise 18 Junior Lodge Suites, one Lodge Suite and the two exclusive Huka Lodge Cottages. The Owner’s Cottage provides secluded accommodation for a maximum of eight guests within four bedrooms and the superb Alan Pye Cottage has two bedrooms for four guests. Cuisine forms an incredibly important part of the experience at Huka Lodge; the list of Michelin starred chefs from all over the world over the years who have worked at Huka Lodge is incredible; the current Executive Chef is English born Paul Froggatt who trained in the UK and in France where his career highlights included working at Gidleigh Park Hotel (Two Michelin-Star), Bernard Loiseau en Bourgogne(Three Michelin-Star) and Château de Courcelles (One Michelin-Star). Paul followed this by stints at two of Singapore’s popular leading European restaurants San Marco and Saint Pierre. Most recently Paul has been the Chef de Cuisine at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel's Amber Restaurant (Two Michelin-Star), in Hong Kong so be prepared to be wowed by his skills.
