Dining is a very important part of the Eagles Nest experience. Whilst it is possible to rent the villas on a self catering basis most guests take advantage of the resident personal chefs to showcase the diverse array of New Zealand’s finest produce sourced locally and nationwide to provide a true sensation for the senses. Eagles Nest is the perfect place to base yourself to enjoy all the experiences on offer in the Bay of Islands. Starting with historic Russell, formerly known as Kororareka, it was the first permanent European settlement and sea port in New Zealand and is full of history. Other activities on offer around the Bay of Islands are land-based fishing, guided bird watching, nature walks, horse riding and mountain biking, game fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing, sea kayaking and guided tours to the Ninety Mile Beach, Tane Mahuta, Doubtless Bay, the Puketi Kauri Forest, Rainbow Falls and the Waitangi Treaty House. 

Accommodation

The flagship villa set in a private 44 acres, Rahimoana, is one of the greatest architectural icons in the world; a work of art in itself and frequently mentioned in the same breath as Wright’s Fallingwater in Pennsylvania; it is New Zealand’s most expensive accommodation and for good reason! Approximately 1,000 sq meters

including decks it has private electronically controlled security gates, private helipad, heated horizon edged lap pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, gymnasium, high technology office, wireless internet access, home cinema system including sky satellite television, plasma TV, 100” movie screen, DVD/CD player with iPod docking station, air conditioning, large expansive deck with bbq, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, laundry facilities, four ensuite bathrooms and four additional bathrooms, Eco Store bathroom amenities, hair dryers, electronic safe and mini bar. The other 4 villas range from 1 bedroom to 4 bedrooms with similar amenities but are all much smaller in size.
