Blanket Bay is only a 50 minute awesome drive from Queenstown airport. There is so much to experience on this 10,000 acre high country cattle, sheep and deer station and also in the surrounding areas; fly-fishing and heli-skiing, the country’s best hiking on the Routeburn or Milford Tracks, jet boating, kayaking, 4WD tours, mountain biking, horse riding, art trails ,wine trails, helicopter and light aircraft flights over the World Heritage Fjordland National Park and Milford Sound, sky diving and bungee jumping. In addition to all this Blanket Bay Lodge itself has a swimming pool, steam room, Jacuzzi, gym, movie theatre lounge and Billiard / pool table. Executive Chef Corey Hume serves up a dining experience that is an equal match to the sublime setting. Corey is a chef who is deeply passionate about infusing his culinary creations with New Zealand flavours. He has received numerous international culinary awards and is a founding member of the New Zealand Culinary Team who represent New Zealand through international cooking competitions. Joined by a highly acclaimed brigade of chefs, Corey and his team serve up a fresh A La Carte menu on a daily basis.
The five guest rooms and three 700 sq ft suites, that have open log fires, all have private bathrooms, superking beds, sumptuous sofas and chairs and spectacular lake views from private balconies. Adjacent to the main lodge two chalets house an additional two suites and two staterooms. The main lodge houses the libarary, Games Room, the Breakfast Dining Room where breakfast and lunch are served and the Evening Dining room is where dinner may be served if not served in the wine cave or the outdoor terrace. Pre-dinner cocktails are served in the Great Room and The Den.
