Siem Reap, located north-west Cambodia, is a charming provincial town defined by a cluster of villages, Chinese-style shop houses, and French-colonial architecture.

It is the gateway to the magnificent ancient Temple ruins of Angkor, with the iconic Angkor Wat, the stone faces on the gateways of Angkor Thom and the ubiquitous Ta Phrom.

Siem Reap has experienced  growth in recent years and there is more to do than visit the temples. Activities to experience in the town of Siem Reap include watching a traditional Cambodian “apsara” dance performance and participating in a Khmer cuisine cooking class to exploring the peaceful countryside on the back of a horse or on a quad bike.

The rural outskirts offer plenty of interesting activities such as visiting craft villages, workshops and silk farms, taking a bike ride through the scenic countryside .A visit would not be complete without a boat trip on Tonle Sap the massive freshwater lake , part of which, Prek Toal, is a sanctuary for water birds of all kind.
