Raffles Hotel Le Royal

Located just 30 minutes from the airport and undoubtedly the most distinguished hotel in Phnom Penh, Raffles Le Royal has been at the heart of the city’s story for over 80 years. In 1997 the hotel reopened following a careful restoration incorporating local Khmer art into the hotel design. On arrival guests should be sure to check the colours of the doorman’s trousers, they wear different coloured trousers for each day of the week, following a similar tradition in the royal palace so the King need only look at staff to know what day of the week it was.

Cambodian cuisine is one of the world's undiscovered treasures and guests can enjoy the finest French and Cambodian delicacies in Restaurant Le Royal. Café Monivong offers an all-day dining experience featuring European and Asian cuisine either in air conditioned comfort or al fresco. A delectable range of cakes and savouries can be enjoyed at Le Phnom with its picturesque terrace facing the pool. The Elephant Bar, Phnom Penh’s most famous historical bar is the perfect venue for guests who wish to enjoy original cocktails and a wide selection of premium spirits in a sophisticated and charming atmosphere

Raffles Le Royal is in the perfect location from which to set out and experience some of the impressive sights of Phnom Penh. The Royal Palace with its spire towers above the golden roofs of the Throne Hall or the Silver Pagoda with a stunning collection of Buddha statues, see the prized statuary on show in the National Museum or bargain for fine silks in the Psar Toul Tom Poung, Phnom Penh’s most enjoyable market.

Those tired after a day sightseeing should book some time at Raffles Spa which offers relaxation and rejuvenation through a wide selection of massages and treatments.

Dating from the 1920s and distinguished by its blend of Khmer, Art Deco and French colonial architecture,  Raffles Hotel Le Royal’s 170 rooms, suites and apartments are colonial style in design, with wooden floors and overhead fans and all have been recently refurbished using local artworks and fabrics.
