Where to stay

The Turks and Caicos islands are located 50 miles south of The Bahamas. This tropical paradise is made up of eight larger islands and a host of smaller outlying islands which are mainly uninhabited.

The stunning turquoise waters and impressive 200-mile coral reef make this arguably one of the top beach destinations in the world. The clear warm waters of the Turks and Caicos are teeming with marine life which include eagle rays and black tip reef sharks. The extensive reef system is a hot spot for both novice and advanced divers.

There are numerous culinary delights and activities which are a must when out and about exploring the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The best time to travel to the Turks and Caicos largely depends on your preferences and the experiences you seek. The peak tourist season typically runs from December to April when the weather is at its finest. During these months, visitors can expect plenty of sunshine, minimal rainfall, and average temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C. It’s the perfect time for snorkelling, diving, and soaking up the sun on the beautiful beaches.

The shoulder seasons of May to June and November offer a great alternative for those seeking a quieter and more budget-friendly escape. While there might be occasional brief showers, the weather remains warm, and the islands are less crowded. Travellers during these months can enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere and take advantage of lower rates on accommodations and activities.

The wet season in the Turks and Caicos spans from July to October. During this time, the islands experience higher humidity and an increased chance of rainfall. The wet season also coincides with the Atlantic hurricane season, although the Turks and Caicos Islands are less likely to experience direct hits compared to other parts of the Caribbean. Travelers planning a visit during the wet season should monitor weather forecasts.
