Laluna - Accommodation
Laluna is a highly unusual property for the Caribbean. It certainly does not feel like a resort; it doesn’t really feel like a hotel either! The whole ambience is much more similar to a rustic luxe Bohemian east African beach lodge with a strong Italian influence and the food is very good. Laluna certainly won’t be for everyone but for those who are up for it are in for a real treat! In addition to the “boutique hotel” there are some fabulous villas available to rent.
Experiences
The setting of Laluna is stunning; the cottages are built up a forested hillside overlooking a quiet, almost private stretch of beach; the cove is hemmed in on both sides by rocky outcrops and all the cottages look out over the calm, tranquil, turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Activities on offer include snorkelling, sailing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, cycling, a state of the art Technogym, a fabulous Balinese Spa, they do a Wednesday night movie-night and there is a gorgeous beachside yoga pavilion for yoga and Pilates classes. They can organise fishing, golf, tennis and scuba diving offsite and island and rainforest tours can also be organised. Happy hour is from 5 until 7 every day at the laid back Sunset Lounge bar which is very much in the style of a Polynesian Tiki Bar which is situated just across the pool area from the small thatched intimate restaurant where excellent Italian food is served daily with many ingredients sourced from their own organic gardens.
Accommodation
The 16 rustic (and fairly dark) cottages are comprised of 4 different categories. All the rooms are simply built using polished concrete floors and walls and individually painted and furnished. Each room has a private plunge pool(tiny!), veranda and Balinese daybed, Complimentary Wi-Fi, Flat-screen TV, Bluetooth speaker. Air-conditioning & ceiling fans, Four-poster king-size bed with fine Italian linen, Minibar with complimentary water, tea and coffee, Walk-in closet with safe, umbrella and yoga mats, Open-air bathroom with rainfall shower, hairdryer, bathrobes and luxury toiletries and a tea and coffee-making station..
