Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor

Just a 15 minute drive from Siem Reap airport, in the heart of the Old French Quarter and set in 15 acres of beautiful gardens, Raffles Grand Hotel D’Angkor is in the perfect location from which to explore the extraordinary Temples of Angkor, only 8 kilometres away. On arrival at the hotel, look out for the doormen and the colour of their trousers; they wear a different colour on each day of the week, following a tradition in the royal palace so the King only needed to look at the staff to know what day of the week it was.

The Experience

Ancient Royal Khmer cuisine, with its blend of tastes, textures and aromas, together with Western fine dining is showcased in the Restaurant Le Grand. Café D’Angkor not only serves the signature champagne breakfast but is also open for lunch and dinner serving a delicious Asian and continental menu. Surrounded by Frangipani trees, the Poolside Terrace is the ideal place for al fresco light meals or cocktails, with Raffles Spa cuisine available for the more health conscious. The marvellous colonial atmosphere of The Conservatory, overlooking the pool and garden is the perfect setting for afternoon tea or a pre-dinner aperitif while listening to the pianist. Enjoy a performance of Cambodian dances and Khmer martial art at Apsara Terrace, while enjoying the delicious pan Asian barbeque cuisine. Every guest should have a cocktail at the famous Elephant Bar, full of history and stories, it is Siem Reap’s most celebrated bar.

Maybe take a picnic hamper to explore the wonders of the majestic complex at Angkor Wat, perhaps seeing Angkor Thom from the back of an elephant. For a once in a lifetime experience why not have a private dinner at one of the Temples. Marvel at the spectacular sunset over Tonle Sap Lake, stroll along the riverside into Siem Reap and the vibrant markets to buy the perfect souvenir. Wander back to the haven of the hotel, swim in or laze around the beautiful pool but do not leave without paying a visit to the Raffles Spa, an oasis of relaxation where Western and Eastern therapies combine to balance the mind and rejuvenate the body.

This is Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, once the home of royalty, now the King of Hotels.
